Game results - 2/23/08
Lightning All-Stars lost 11-2 to the undefeated 4th grade Aces team to end the season. Mateo and Nicholas scored. Lightning All-Stars finished 2-5-3. Great job, boys!

Game results - 2/9/08
In the first game of the playoffs, the Lightning All-Stars notched a victory on penalty kicks over the Lightning. Mateo scored Lightning All-Stars only goal in regulation, midway through the first half. Lightning struck back in the second half, and regulation time ended at 1-1. After a scoreless 5-minute overtime, the game went to penalty kicks. Lightning missed their first two, while Lightning All-Stars made their first two. After another Lightning miss, and a Lightning All-Stars miss, Lightning missed their 4th shot, thus giving Lightning All-Stars the victory. Great play from our keepers, Dylan and Juan, and great hustle from all the boys.
Our record is now 2-4-3. Our next playoff game is on February 23rd, 2 PM at Gunston.

Game results - 2/2/08
Lightning All-Stars notched their first win of the season, 6-3 over the 4th Grade ASF Lightning team. The win avenged a 6-1 defeat earlier in the season.
After a goal from Juan early in the first half, ASF scored a goal at 13:43 of the half to tie the game. Lightning All-Stars struck back with three goals in the last three minutes of the first half, two from Nicholas, and one from Mateo on a left-footed direct kick to make the score 4-1 at the end of the first half.
In the second half, ASF got two goals to narrow the lead to 4-3 at the midpoint of the second half, but Nicholas struck again at 3:28 and added an insurance goal in the last 20 seconds to make the final 6-3.
All the boys hustled hard for this victory. Great keeper work from Ben and Eric.Playoffs start next weekend. Game info to follow.
